Knitting for Noggins

Well I made it. I was a little late getting there but Judy was waiting patiently there for me. I was only able to get three hats done for it but I'm going to start earlier next year. I just didn't have enough time to do as many as I wanted to this time. I think Judy was able to get three done as well. That makes me feel a little better. :) It didn't last until 4 p.m. like it said on the web site but I guess they wanted to make sure that everyone had a chance to drop off their hats. We met Susan B. Anderson after she spoke and signed her book "Itty-Bitty Nursery" that people had bought that day. She's a really nice person. I really enjoyed meeting her. She was very down to earth and fun to talk to. She even wrote down the name of this blog because she wanted to check it and leave a comment on it. I can't tell you how nice she was to us. If you would like to check out her blog just click on this link: http://www.susanbanderson.blogspot.com/

Here are a few pictures we took while we were there:

This one is of Susan with her book "Itty Bitty Nursery".
This is Judy with some carrots that Susan knitted with orange chenille yarn and green feathers. Aren't they just too cute!
Here I am with a baby mobile that Susan did with little mice and flowers all over it. The whole thing is covered in yarn. All the mice and flowers are knitted. I just loved this one!
Here's Susan again with one of her creations. A cute little bunny.
It was great fun to go. Now that I know what to expect. I hope I can do a better job of organizing a group of us to go to it next year. I think everyone would have a great time.

And if you would like to check out the Knitting for Noggins web site here it is: http://www.archildrens.org/volunteer/Knitting_for_Noggins.asp

They were able to collect almost 20,000 hats this year.

Well, that's all for this time. See yah next month!

Hi Yarn Dolls!
I finally found your blog. I looked yesterday but didn't put the "the" in front of yarn dolls!
Thanks for the kind comments and the link. Wasn't that a fun event? I truly had a great time. Those Little Rock knitters/crocheters are really the nicest of folks.

You two are pretty nice yourselves!
Take care,
susan
